On July 11, 2024 the Hays City Commission unanimously approved an updated Larks Park Lease Agreement with Fort Hays State University (FHSU). Director of Parks Jeff Boyle presented the agreement, a revision of the lease last approved in 2006. He stated that most of the changes were made for clarification purposes or were funding related.
All four cross country and track and field teams representing Fort Hays State University were listed as USTFCCCA All-Academic teams for the 2023-24 season, announced Monday (July 15) by the coaches association. Fourteen individuals also achieved All-Academic recognition, including seven each from the men's and women's squads.

Hayden Albright of Fort Hays State track and field was named to the CSC Academic All-America Track & Field/Cross Country Team for 2023-24. He is now a two-time CSC Academic All-America selection after being named to the first team last year. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.
Fort Hays State Women's Soccer announced an additional four signings for the 2024 season. The latest group includes three transfers and one high school signing. FHSU will have 13 newcomers with the team in the fall.
