Tuning up for next week’s MIAA action, the Fort Hays State University men’s basketball team steamrolled visiting Kansas Christian College on Saturday at Gross Memorial Coliseum,

Nabbing head coach Mark Johnson’s 200th career victory inside GMC, the Tigers put up a 96-52 win against KCC, moving to 8-4 overall, wrapping up the non-conference portion of the schedule.

FHSU led from start to finish, climbing to a 31-point lead by halftime and grabbing its largest lead of the game with the final margin.

Rob Davis scored a team-high 17 points, scoring 15 by halftime. Brady Werth (11), Grant Holmes (10) and Payton Stephens (10) all reached double figures as well, all with new career highs. FHSU also outscored Kansas Christian 31-0 on second-chance points.

FHSU returns to MIAA play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at home against visiting University of Central Missouri. The Mules (8-3 overall, 2-2 MIAA) are coming off a 74-66 loss against Rockhurst University on Saturday.
