Women’s tennis squeaks past Kansas Wesleyan

The Fort Hays State tennis team used a tiebreak win in No. 2 doubles to propel itself to a 5-4 victory against Kansas Wesleyan on Tuesday at FHSU Tennis Courts.

The No. 2 doubles pair of freshman Alina Villalovos and junior Raven Dick clinched a 9-8 with a 7-2 score in the tiebreak.

The No. 4 through 6 singles for Fort Hays backed losses from their top 3 singles win three wins. The No. 3 doubles team of freshman Haley Weidemann and sophomore Taylor Noel rallied for an 8-1 decision.

The Tigers (2-3) play their final two matches of the fall season Sept. 25 when they travel to Doane College and Concordia (Neb.).
