The Hays Larks won a rain-shortened game against Haysville in Jayhawk League action Saturday night at Larks park.

Hays was leading 4-2 when the game was stopped before the start of the sixth inning. After a 44-minute rain delay, the game was called.

Hays (5-2 overall, 2-1 Jayhawk) will be going for a series sweep tonight at Larks Park. It is Military Appreciation Night, and all current military personnel and veterans will be honored in a ceremony starting at 6:45 p.m. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Hays starter Jorge Guarneros was the winner on Saturday in his first start for the Larks. Guarneros allowed two runs on two hits. He walked four, but had four double plays turned behind him.

Cam Brown hit a three-run homer to left field into the wind in the first inning, and Hays manufactured a run in the third. Tito Andino singled with two outs and stole second. After a walk to Jay Sanders, Andino took off for a steal of third. When the ball got past the catcher for a wild pitch on the play,

Andino hustled home to make it 4-0.

Starter Zeb Sneed took the loss for Haysville (4-4, 2-3).
