DODGE CITY — After a semifinal loss Friday, the Logan High School boys’ basketball team ended up fourth Saturday, falling to Beloit/St. John’s-Tipton, 56-41, at United Wireless Arena.

The Trojans, who came in as the No. 3 seed in the state finale, couldn’t contain the Blujays’ Davis Dubbert, who hit 11 of 18 shots and 6 of 6 at the free throw line to put up 31 points. Logan put three in double figures itself with 13 each for Regan Kats and Austin Tien, plus 10 more for Josh VanLaeys, who notched a double-double with 17 rebounds as well.

The Blujays led from start to finish, building up a 10-point lead by halftime, and outscored Logan, 13-5 in the third quarter.

Logan finished its season 21-5, and St. Johns’-Tipton, which came into the state field as the undefeated top seed, finished 25-1 in third place.
