Trisha Hines, teacher assistant for Early Childhood Connections, has been awarded an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate Credential in recognition of outstanding work with young children. The Council for Professional Recognition in Washington awards credentials to early childhood educators who demonstrate the ability to constructively work with young children in group settings. The CDA is a nationally recognized credential for excellence in early childhood education. Each CDA candidate is observed working with young children and is assessed on his or her ability to develop the physical, emotional and intellectual capabilities of young children. Hays native Scott Schumacher has joined AG PRO Crop Insurance as a licensed account representative. McDonald's of North Hays, Russell and South Hays have announced the August crew member of the month awards. The recipients are: Shelby Lorber-Porter, North Hays; Christian Garland, Russell; and Brittany Dannels, South Hays. Lorber-Porter has been a part of McDonald's of North Hays since June 24. He was selected due to his strong work ethic, efficiency, motivation, diligence, helpfulness, efficiency, unselfish, calmness, team work abilities, eagerness to learn, leadership, personality, positive attitude, team work skills and friendliness. Garland has been a part of the McDonald's of Russell team since July 23. He was selected due to his strong work ethic, motivation, personality, friendliness, efficiency, helpfulness and team work abilities. Dannels became a part of the McDonald's of South Hays team Feb. 12, 2012. She was selected due to her helpfulness, politeness, motivation, team work abilities, knowledge, personality, effectiveness, efficiency and strong work ethic.

Jon Lightle, president and CEO for Nex-Tech Wireless, recently was elected to the 2014-15 Board of Directors for the Competitive Carriers Association at the organization's 22nd annual convention. Members of the CCA board dedicate time, resources and energy to keep competitive carriers, such as Nex-Tech Wireless, and the issues that affect them at the forefront of the wireless industry. CCA is the nation's leading association for competitive wireless providers and stakeholders across the United States. The licensed service area of CCA's more than 100 carrier members covers 95 percent of the nation. Also at CCA's annual convention, Corrina Hudsonpillar, marketing and public relations supervisor for Nex-Tech Wireless, was honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award. The award honors the efforts of a carrier company individual in the wireless telecommunications industry who has made extraordinary contributions to the wireless industry and CCA during the past year. Hudsonpillar received the award for her extraordinary support for CCA and in particular, strategic support for planning and organizing CCA events.
