EL DORADO -- Shawn Lewick and Jason Heflin combined to allow just four hits, and the Hays Larks picked up a 5-1 victory Friday against Jayhawk League foe El Dorado.

The win pushed the Larks' record to 6-0, 3-0 in Jayhawk play, as the two were set to play again Saturday night and will close the three-game series with a 7 p.m. Sunday night in El Dorado.

In seven innings Friday, Lewick allowed just one earned run on three El Dorado hits with six strikeouts and four walks to pick up the victory. Heflin pitched the final two innings for the save, surrendering one hit with two strikeouts and a walk.

Hays took a 3-1 lead in the third inning win Mackenzie Handel and Austin Darby each drove in a run, then took the 5-1 lead in the sixth. Darby picked up his second RBI on a sacrficie fly to left, and Austin Jarvis had an RBI double to score Ryan Busboom.

Aaron Cornell finished with three hits for the Larks and Joe Betcher and Busboom each collected two hits.
