Dorothy Helen (Moore) McRae, age 85, of Hays, KS. died on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Dorothy was born March 26, 1936, to Andrew Alexander Moore and Anna Margaret (Senger) Moore in Studley Kansas.

She attended elementary school in Studley, and high school in Hoxie. She met Paul McRae and they married in 1954.

Dorothy’s interests included 4-H leadership, dog breeding and grooming, Doll Club, PEO, FCE, and, with then husband Dr. Paul McRae, they pioneered Bovine Embryo Transfers in the late 70’s.

In 1990 to 2003 she worked for the State of Kansas as an Animal Control Agent. She was a Board Member to the Hays Humane Society and lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and the VFW. She worked elections in Hays for 48 years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers, Hazel Moore, Stella Clark, Della Stramel, Glenn Moore, and Wilber Moore.

She is survived by Sister, Donna Morgenstern and brother, Bill Moore, and her children, Pamela Livingston, Susan McRae Bickle (H: Tim), Debra May (H: Tim), Paula Carlson (H: Trent), and, Michael McRae (W: Tanya), as well as 19 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy’s celebration of Life service was held at the First United Methodist Church on January 26th, 2022. Burial Services were at Mt. Allen Cemetery, Hays, KS.
