SYRACUSE — The Thomas More Prep-Marian boys’ golf team is heading back to state tournament for the sixth consecutive year after placing second at Monday’s regional tournament at Tamarisk Golf Course in Syracuse, but it wasn’t without some drama.

The Monarchs finished seven strokes behind the hosts for second place but only edged out Cimarron for third by one stroke.

Senior Hayden Rohr carded an 80 for third place, while Collin Werth’s 85 was good for fifth place.

Michael Braun and Cameron Rozean completed the TMP team score with rounds of 97 and 106, respectively.

Jace Rueshhoff and Alec Stults also played for TMP but did not crack the team’s top four.

Syracuse’s Will Kullot had the best individual round with a 74.

The Monarchs will head to Salina Municipal Golf Course on Monday, May 23, for the Class 3A State tournament.
