Doris Faulkner, a Hays resident for 31 years, passed away on April 10 due to a third bout with cancer. Always involved in the Hays community, Doris was active in Fort Hays State University groups such as faculty wives, was a member of the Methodist Church and several church groups, and served for 3 years as church secretary. She also worked in the personnel department at Hadley Hospital for 18 years, retiring in 1995. She spent her retirement years with her husband Keith Faulkner in Cool, California, pursuing her passions of quilting, sewing, entertaining and community involvement.

In addition to her husband, she also leaves behind sons David of Cascade, Colorado, Kevin of Saratoga, California, and Craig of Cool, California, and the lights of her life, grandchildren Katie and Cary of Saratoga, California.

The Doris Faulkner Memorial Fund has been established at the FHSU Foundation, to support her love of music and education.

Celebration of life services will be held 12:30 pm Sunday June 11, 2017, at the ALT clubhouse in Cool, California, and at 3:00 pm Saturday August 26, 2017, at the FHSU Robbins Center in Hays, Kansas.
