The Ellis Trail tour Saturday sponsored by the Nicodemus Historical Society has been canceled because of impassable and flooded roads on the trail. The tour tentatively has been rescheduled for May 23. The date will be confirmed at a later time.

The Ellis Trail was the path settlers from Kentucky used in the late 1870s to travel from Ellis after departing a train to what would become the first black settlement in the western United States called Nicodemus.
