SALINA – The Central Kansas District Extension will host a Recreational Lease and Land Value Workshop on April 6 in Salina. The workshop is on the first floor, room 109, in the City-County Building, 300 West Ash, Salina. Discussions on recreational leases begin at 9:30 a.m. and land values begin at 11 a.m.
Nathaniel Gilbert, a native of Salina, is an attorney who focuses on farming, ranching and agricultural business management issues. He practices in Kansas, Colorado and Missouri and has a wealth of experience working with rural landowners throughout the region. Gilbert will share his views on the future of recreational leases in Kansas and how those interested can successfully design and implement them to enhance profitability and access to outdoor pursuits.
K-State’s Dr. Mykel Taylor will live-stream a presentation on Kansas land values. Taylor joined the Department of Agricultural Economics in 2011. Her research and extension programs are focused in the areas of crop marketing and farm management. The presentation will feature new data from her current research on crop and pasture land values in Kansas.
