Amy Michaele (Cairns) Russell, 45, Natoma, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita.
She was born Feb. 26, 1970, in Hays, to Jim and Gloria (Stremel) Cairns. She was a 1988 graduate of Bazine High School.
She married Gary Russell on July 19, 2008, at Wilson Lake. She worked for USD 399 in the past and had recently gone back to school at Fort Hays State University, where she was to receive her philosophy degree in the spring.
Survivors include her husband, of the home in Natoma; two sons, Dylan Jacobs, Hays, and Cash Russell, Natoma; her mother, Gloria Schwindt and husband, Dale, Alexander; her father, Jim Cairns and girlfriend, Gloria Herrman, Hays; two brothers, Michael Cairns, Hays, and Devin Schwindt, Wichita; a sister, Kerie Schwindt, Alexander; and her grandparents, John W. Karlin and Ruby (Dome) Karlin, Hillsboro, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, the Rev. Joseph Russell and Grace Cairns, Clifford James Stremel and Harry and Dorothea Schwindt.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grade School gym in Natoma; a private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
