McPherson beat Thomas More Prep-Marian 4-0 in the third-place game of the Maize South Invitational Saturday behind four first-half goals.

The Monarchs fell behind in the 13th minute and saw the Bullpups' lead balloon to 4-0 behind a first-half hat trick from Andric McGill. TMP never threatened McPherson's starting keeper.

Josh Stark handled first 60 minutes in net for TMP and made 11 saves against four goals allowed. Johathan VanCampen handled the final 20 minutes and recorded a pair of saves.

TMP (0-4-0) returns to action on the road Tuesday when they face a talented Garden City squad. 

Hays High solidified its fifth place finish with a 1-0 win over Wichita Independent. Lassey Beorgers netted the game-winning goal in the 32nd minutes. Ethan Nunnery was named to the All-Tournament team for Hays High.

The Indians (2-3) travel to Great Bend Monday.
