Amos Avila, 79, Oakley, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, in Denver.

He was born July 13, 1937, in Oakley to Joe and Maria (Franco) Perez.

He was a farmhand.

Survivors include two sisters, Lucille Perez, Oakley, and Anita Oliveros, Sutherland, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Pete Perez and Guadalupe “Lupe” Avila; and two sisters, Rose Hernandez and Vera Hernandez.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley.

A rosary/wake will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph’s School or Amos Avila Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
