Auxiliary salutes veterans

The American Legion Auxiliary continues to stand united and unashamed for God and country. We are true patriots. We defend our faith and love liberty.

We are promoters of unity, champions of peace, protectors of democracy and guardians of all things sacred to life.

We have committed ourselves to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Regardless of our party preference or political stance, we lift up our sovereign God and our fellow Americans through "serving others not self."

The American Legion Auxiliary continues to serve United States military veterans and soldiers living near and far. Through goodwill and encouraging messages sent to veterans, to military service men and women, and to their families, their hearts are lifted with hope for a brighter future. Encouraging the elderly -- especially veterans, their widows and their families -- gives them a sense of value. Educating youth with patriotic programs inspires and instills thankfulness for freedom's cost.

Veterans Day, Nov. 11, will honor our nation's veterans. The American Legion Auxiliary Units join in saluting our veterans. We encourage you to thank a veteran, send a greeting to a soldier, attend a Veterans Day event, fly the U.S. flag, and pause with gratitude on Veterans Day to remember the cost of freedom, as we live in the "land of the free and the home of the brave."
