Anyone still attempting to create last minute, memorable New Year's Eve plans just might be in luck.
Rose Garden Steak Haus and Catering, Hays, will be ringing in the New Year with a party featuring a full-course meal, live entertainment and midnight champagne toast at Rose Garden Banquet Hall, 2350 East Old U.S. Highway 40.
Not only will guests receive the full treatment of an eventful evening, but gratification in that a portion of the proceeds go toward the Hays USD 489 Foundation for Educational Excellence.
"We wanted to have a New Year's Eve party and thought we could turn it into a good cause to help out," said Rose Garden manager Erika Mabb.
Part of the profit from ticket sales will be dedicated to Hays Public Schools in support of educational programs.
"We're very passionate about the community and always try to help as much as possible," said Rose Garden co-owner Lynn Schmeidler. "The foundation is a great way to help not only the community, but the kids -- the younger generation."
"Hopefully when they get older they will realize they can help other people, too."
This is the first year Rose Garden Steak Haus and Catering has hosted a New Year's Eve fundraising event, but they now plan to make it an annual affair, dedicating proceeds to different recipients each year, Mabb said.
Doors at Rose Garden Banquet Hall will open at 7 p.m., followed by a full-course dinner buffet featuring prime rib, honey pecan chicken, baked potato, vegetable and salad beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m.
"We have the best food in town," Schmeidler said. "It doesn't get much better than this."
Live acoustic entertainment is scheduled to be provided by DoC starting at 8 p.m.
"I've seen them play at other events and I think they're great," Mabb said. "They have a wide variety of music that is good for dancing, and they're really good about getting the crowd involved."
There will be plenty of room for anyone who wants to dance their way into the new year, too, the manager said.
"It's a big event," said catering coordinator Cole Arthur. "There's a bar and the band is really good."
A cash bar stocked with beer, wine, liquor and soda will be available for guests.
"We are also going to hand out cards with taxi information so everyone can get home safe," Arthur said.
Entertainment and snacks will be provided to attendees throughout the course of the night until the party closes at 1 a.m.
Just before midnight, champagne will be distributed just in time for the countdown into 2015.
"We're going to eat good food, listen to good music, hang out, dance and have a countdown into the new year," Mabb said. "It's going to be a great time."
Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance for $50. Eight or more tickets are $45 per ticket. If reserving tickets in advance, stop by Rose Garden Steak Haus and Catering or call (785) 625-9508.
"It's a fun and safe place to come for the night," Mabb said. "Bring your friends and create some great memories bringing in the new year."
