In a unanimous vote, the Hays USD 489 Board of Education voted Monday night to continue the exploratory process to a potential $100 million bond to improve and renovate district facilities.
The vote did not mean the BOE gave approval to put the bond on an election ballot, but only to continue to work toward a possible bond.
The vote allows the board to continue to tweak the recommendation by the facilities needs committee presented earlier this year, in desired. BOE members could seek a potential bond for the committee's recommendation, seek a potential bond for another amount with changes, or eventually drop the bond issue altogether.
The board also voted to purchase 100 iPads for use in the district after lengthy discussion.
