Paulette M.(Bieker) Fort, 61, Ulysses, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, Ulysses.
She was born Nov. 10, 1952, in Ellis to Martin and Esther (Fisher) Bieker. She grew up in Ellis and graduated from Ellis High School. She attended Colby Community College and Fort Hays State University, where she pursued a bachelor of science degree in library science.
She married Greg Fort on July 26, 1975, in Hays. They moved to Ulysses in 1975. She was a homemaker and mother. From 1985 to 2000, she was a guidance counselor and secretary, then worked as the administrative secretary for the superintendent of Ulysses schools.
She was a member of PEO, Jr. Civic, Big Orange Boosters and was a Ulysses Tigers and K-State fan. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and baking.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Thayne Fort and wife, Jennie, Denver; a daughter, Taryn Fort-Doyle and husband, Matt, Denver; a brother, Jerry Bieker and wife, Susie, Denver; and a granddaughter, Ginger Doyle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tyson Gabriel Fort, in 1985.
Services were Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Ulysses; burial in Ulysses Cemetery.
