The Hays High Plains Barbershop Chapter is looking forward to its 50th anniversary show to be presented April 7 at Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center on the Fort Hays State University campus. We are excited to present this milestone event for your enjoyment. There will be two shows — 2 and 7 p.m. The headline quartets for this 50th annual show are the Barbershop Society's 2006 International Champions "Vocal Spectrum” from St. Charles, Mo., who will be sharing the spotlight with the 2015 International Champions “Instant Classic” from Indiana. If you never have attended one of the shows or are one of the faithful fans, this is a must-see event.
The Hays High Plains Barbershop Chapter is a nonprofit, charitable, educational organization that promotes singing in schools in central and northwest Kansas. The Hays High Plains Barbershop Chapter recently made donations to Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas, Fort Hays State University choral music department and Trinity Lutheran Church, where they have rehearsed in the basement for more than 30 years. They also donated to the Central States District college quartet contest fund and to Full Chord Press — a Hays middle and high school young men's singing group. Ad and ticket sales will be starting soon, and chorus members will be calling people for support.
