PLAINVILLE — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Plainville Police Department and the Rooks County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a death that occurred in Plainville early Monday.

According to a press release from the KBI, local law enforcement responded to a call at 4:50 a.m. Monday to 411 Commercial Street. Upon arriving at the location, law enforcement discovered a female victim deceased. Plainville Police Chief Troy Rudman requested KBI investigative assistance at that time.

The victim has been identified as Alexis Garcia, 24, Plainville.

This investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time, according to the release.

PLAINVILLE — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has confirmed it is assisting in an investigation of a death in Plainville.

The Kansas Attorney General's Office is reviewing the case, according to Jennifer Montgomery, public information officer for Attorney General Derek Schmidt.

"At the request of the Rooks County Attorney, our office has accepted for review the case regarding the death of Alexis Garcia," Montgomery said in an email.
