PLAINVILLE — The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has announced an arrest was made in the investigation of a death in Rooks County.

Local law enforcement responded to a call at 4:50 a.m. Monday to a residence at 411 Commercial St. in Plainville, where they found Alexis Garcia, 24, Plainville, dead.

Her husband, Alifonso Eduardo Garcia, 35, was arrested at 5 a.m. Monday by the Plainville Police Department on suspicion of first degree murder, according to a press release Wednesday afternoon from the KBI. Formal charges will be determined by the Kansas Attorney General’s office.

Garcia is at Salina Regional Health Center and is being held on a $1 million bond.
