PLAINVILLE — The Thomas More Prep-Marian girls track and field team won the Plainville Invitational on Tuesday while the TMP placed second in the meet.
The TMP girls claimed five event wins. Adell Riedel won the 800-meter run in a personal-best 2.25.01 and was on two winning relay teams for the Monarchs.
Riedel, Emily Schippers, M.K. Dwyer and Savannah Yost took the 1,600 relay in 4:20.41. Schippers, Yost, Riedel and Julia Werth then won the 3,200 relay in 10:40.60.
In field events, Yost won the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches. TMP’s Paris Wolf claimed the triple jump with a mark of 33-3 1/4.
On the boys side, TMP’s Ethan Lang won the 800 (2:12.29) and 1,600 (4:57.66). He was also on the winning 3,200 relay team with Lucas Lang, Garrett Pfeifer and Blayne Riedel. They finished in 9:06.41.
TMP’s David McFarland won the high jump with a mark of 5-8 and Jason Kepka had a winning throw of 163-2 in the javelin for the Monarchs.
