Fort Hays State All-America distance runners Brett Meyer and Decano Cronin have made commitments to run in premier races this week. Meyer will compete in the 1-Mile Run at the Festival of Miles in St. Louis, Missouri, while Cronin will compete in the Elite 800 meters at the Music City Distance Carnival in Nashville, Tennessee.

Meyer's race is on Thursday, taking place at St. Louis University High School. Cronin's race is on Saturday, taking place at Vanderbilt Track on the campus of Vanderbilt University.

Meyer and Cronin are coming off successful 2018 campaigns, earning All-America status for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. During the indoor season, Meyer was the national runner-up in the mile and Cronin was the national runner-up in the 800 meters. Last week at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Meyer finished fourth in the 1,500-meter run, while Cronin once again was the national runner-up in the 800 meters. Going back to 2017, Cronin was the national champion in the 800 meters during the outdoor season, while Meyer earned All-America honors both indoor and outdoor, finishing fifth in the nation for the indoor 800 meters and seventh in the nation for the outdoor 800 meters.

Meyer will have one more year of eligibility at Fort Hays State as he enters his senior year in 2018-19, while Cronin has exhausted his collegiate eligibility.
