Three players from Otis-Bison will highlight a strong contingent of area players set to be showcased in the Kansas Eight-Man Division II All-Star Game this weekend.

The Cougars' Blake Bahr, Landon Hoopingarner and Daniel Scott will take the field for the Division II West squad at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trojan Field in Beloit. The Division II game will follow the Division I Eight-Man All-Star Game at 10 a.m.

“One last chance to go out there and have fun and try to get a win,” said Bahr a first-team all-Central Prairie League running back who is headed to Fort Hays State for track.

Bahr, Scott and Hoopingarner helped lead Otis-Bison to a 10-2 record before ending the season with a 42-16 loss to Hodgeman County in district play.

"Since we ended not going to state, I'm pretty sure we want to go out with a win," said Scott, a first-team all-CPL linebacker. "We're going to go in pretty competitive."

“We didn’t end our season the way we liked to, but it’ll be fun playing together one last time,” Bahr added. "I kind of view it as a fun thing, but you always want to try and get a win."

Bahr said the event will be a good showcase for the 8-Man game.

“I wouldn’t want to play any other type of football,” Bahr said. “I think 8-man is the way to go."

Hoopingarner was a key offensive lineman for the Cougars, earning first-team all-conference honors.

Sylvan-Lucas placed two players on the West in Dylan Streit and Owen Krueger. Streit had 211 career tackles and 711 career receiving yards with seven touchdowns, while Kreuger rushed for over 3,000 yards in his career.

Wallace County will be represented on the West squad by linebacker Seth Johnson and defensive back/receiver Carlin Springsteel.

Other area players for the West include Wheatland-Grinnell's Chandler Ostmeyer, Northern Valley's Kaden Kinderknecht and Stockton's Trey Kuhlmann.

Ostmeyer's career statistics include 2,033 passing yards, 99 solo tackles and 24 interceptions. Kinderknecht rushed for over 4,000 yards in his career and threw for 2,415 yards, while Kuhlmann was a standout defensive player for Stockton.
