The Hays Larks outlasted the Derby Twins in a 16-inning marathon, winning the four-game series with a 3-2 victory on Sunday at Larks Parks.

The Larks took advantage of an error in the bottom of the 16th after a miscue at shortstop scored Matt Munoz for the winning run.

With the win, the Larks took three out of four in the series and moved to 30-7 overall and 22-6 in the Jayhawk League. The Larks pushed their lead to five games in the league standings.

The Larks tied the game at 2 in the bottom of the seventh after R.J. Williams singled in Matt Munoz. Wyatt Divis and Shane Browning then came up huge in relief for the Larks.

Divis, despite getting into a few jams, tossed six scoreless innings. Browning threw the last three innings and earned the win.

Ryne Randle and Munoz each went 3 for 7 at the plate for the Larks.

The Larks will open a three-game series at Haysville on Tuesday.
