VICTORIA — A semi struck the railroad bridge in Victoria Tuesday morning.
According to a release from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, Fritz Kiteck, 19, Overland Park, was driving a 2017 Freightliner about 8:50 a.m. pulling a box trailer southbound on 300 block of Cathedral Avenue. He failed to see the posted truck route or bridge clearance signs notifying of the 12-foot 6-inch clearance.
As the vehicle passed under the railroad bridge, the trailer struck the bridge and caused damage. Union Pacific Railroad personnel inspected the bridge.
The Victoria Police Department assisted with the incident.
