COLBY — The Hays High School girls’ basketball team was all over Colby early and ofter during the championship game of the Orange & Black Classic on Saturday at the Colby Community Building.
That showed in the final score.
The Indians claimed a 50-19 win in their first mid-season title game appearance since 2012 (at McPherson), and moved to 7-3 with their fourth win in the last five games.
Colby scored its lowest total of the season, while the Indians’ defense allowed its fewest points of the year by 21.
Hays High is at home Friday to face Salina Central in a 6 p.m. start at the HHS gym.
