Authorities are still searching for a suspect in a sexual assault in Hays early Sunday.

The last known location of Tre Miekale Carrasco is Denver, according to an update the Hays Police Department posted to its Facebook page on Tuesday.

Carrasco should be considered armed and dangerous. Information on his location should be given to the Hays Police Department at (785) 625-1011.

A formal complaint outlining the charges against Carrasco was filed in Ellis County District Court at 9:13 p.m. Sunday night so police could obtain an arrest warrant for Colorado authorities, Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees said.

Carrasco has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of aggravated assault, according to the complaint. It alleges he held a gun to the head or neck of a 19-year-old woman while he forced her to engage in sexual intercourse, telling her if she did not stop crying he would kill her.

The assault was reported at 5:42 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Seventh. Carrasco reportedly stole a Chevy Malibu from that area after the attack. He was confirmed to have been at a Colby truck stop several hours later getting into a silver pickup that headed toward Interstate 70.

Carrasco had been released from Hutchinson Correctional Institute just two days prior to the attack. He had been there since Nov. 6 for a parole violation in Colorado.

He had been placed post-release supervision in Colorado last summer when he absconded, according to Kansas Department of Corrections records.

Carrasco was arrested in 2011 when he was 16 after a July 1 assault on a 57-year-old woman in the 2900 block of Country Lane. He was charged as an adult with one count of aggravated criminal sodomy, one count of aggravated battery and one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was also charged as a juvenile with two counts of aggravated burglary for incidents earlier that year.

In a 2013 plea deal, he was sentenced for a total of 100 months for aggravated sexual battery, aggravated battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
