A truck driver who allegedly tried to get his truck out of impound while waving a rifle entered a plea agreement in Ellis County District Court this week.
Mitchell Dallman, 29, pleaded to three counts of misdemeanor assault, Assistant Ellis County Attorney David Aschwege said. The recommended sentence 12 months probation with an underlying sentence of 90 days in jail.
According to police reports, Dallman went to a business in the 500 block of Vine the morning of Aug. 14 looking to get his semi truck out of impound. Dallman reportedly pulled a rifle out of his vehicle, cycled the action of the rifle and waved it around while yelling at an employee before leaving southbound from Hays. He was later arrested in La Crosse.
