Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees on Friday filed additional charges in the investigation of a February homicide.
Kylie Jo Waldschmidt, 24, Hays has been charged with aiding and abetting a felony murder with an alternate charge of felony aggravated assault or aggravated battery. The crimes are off-grid felonies in the Kansas sentencing guidelines. Conviction would carry a mandatory 25-year prison sentence.
She is also charged with interference with a law enforcement officer for falsely reporting information during a homicide investigation.
Waldschmidt has been in custody in the Ellis County Jail since March 22 in lieu of $600,000 bond.
The charges are filed in connection with the Feb. 27 shooting of Diego Gallaway in the 2700 block of Indian Trail.
Ryan Paul Thompson, 34, is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting as well as possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon. He remains in custody in the Ellis County Jail in lieu of $750,000 bond.
Alysha K. Meade, 29, is charged with interference with a law enforcement officer and criminal distribution of a firearm to a felon. She also faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of alprazolam, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She remains in jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
