ABILENE — The Hays High softball team picked up a road sweep against Abilene on Monday, earning 4-3 and 8-0 wins.

Hays High improved to 6-4 on the season.

Jaysa Wichers earned both wins in the circle, going the distance. She allowed two earned runs in the first game, scattering seven hits with two walks while striking out seven.

In the nightcap, Wichers gave up just four hits with a walk and struck out five.

Cassidy Prough, Brittany Park and Madelyn Waddell all doubled in game one. Kaitlyn Brown and MacKenzie Fagan collected three hits in the second game, with Wichers and Brown each collecting a double.  

The Indians will take part in a triangular with Sacred Heart and Thomas More Prep-Marian on Thursday at TMP.
