The Hays USD 489 school board will meet Tuesday for its first work study session.

At the July 22 meeting, Superintendent Ron Wilson suggested the board use its first meeting of the month to delve into a particular topic each month, and proposed using the already-scheduled goal-setting meeting with Gary Sechrist, leadership services field specialist with the Kansas Association of School Boards, rather than the regularly scheduled Monday meeting.

The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Toepfer Board Room of the Rockwell Administration Center, 323 W. 12th, where the board normally meets.

Topics for future work study sessions will be discussed Tuesday.

The work study sessions will still be open to the public, and business items will be considered. In addition to the goal-setting session, Tuesday’s agenda also includes a consent agenda — the July 22 minutes, personnel transactions and financials — as well as an executive session to discuss negotiations with the Hays National Education Association.
