Arthur E. Huslig, 83, Ellinwood, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, in Ellinwood.

He was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Great Bend, to Anton F. and Louise (Maneth) Huslig. He was a 1953 graduate of Cunningham High School.

He married Mercedes Hoffman on April 27, 1963, in Great Bend. She preceded him in death. He was an auto mechanic.

He was a members of St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph Council No. 1187 Knights of Columbus and Ellinwood Fire Department and Ambulance crew. He also donated time as a scout leader for the local Boy Scouts.

Survivors include a son, Eugene G. Huslig and wife, Chelle, Manhatten; a daughter, Christina D. Befort and husband, Steve, La Crosse; five brothers, Paul Huslig, Great Bend, Marcus Huslig, Mulvane, Jerome Huslig, Ellinwood, Ervin Huslig, Lawrence and Charles Huslig, Ellsworth; two sisters, Mary Ann Wondra, Great Bend, and Helen Schnitther, Kingman; and five grandchildren, Makenzie, Ezekiel, Camille, Rebecca and Heather.

He was preceded in death by three children and a brother, Lawrence Huslig.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ellinwood; burial in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Minnis Chapel, Ellinwood.

A K of C rosary/vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph School Endowment Fund or Ellinwood Fire Department in care of the funeral chapel.
