Lucille Ochampaugh, 102, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at Red Bud Village, Plainville.
She was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Weldona, Colo., to William and Gertrude Kammerer. She attended school in the Weldona Valley area of the Platte River Basin. She furthered her education through the Greeley Teachers College and later Kansas State University where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree right alongside her son Clifford in 1967.
She married Donald Ochampaugh in 1938. He preceded her in death. After retiring from her teaching career, she continued her dedication by focusing on the betterment of senior citizens and young people whenever possible.
Survivors include two sons, Earl Ochampaugh, Garden City, and James Ochampaugh, Plainville; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Ochampaugh.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Plainville; burial in Stockton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Plainville.
Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church (Youth Programs) or Redbud Village in care of the funeral home.
