A Hays organization is one of 20 statewide that received more than $1.2 million in grants to help fund resources for those facing family violence.

Options: Domestic and Sexual Violence Services received a $71,526 grant from the Federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act, according to a press release from Gov. Laura Kelly’s office.

The grant program assists states in their efforts to support the establishment, maintenance and expansion of programs and projects to prevent domestic and dating violence, provide immediate shelter and support services for victims and their dependents, and provide specialized services for children exposed to domestic violence, according to the press release.
