The Hays Community Theatre on Saturday issued the following open letter to its patrons:


With the news on COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) changing from day to day, the Hays Community Theatre remains committed to staying in communication with our patrons, artists, volunteers, students and staff, whose health and safety is always our top priority.


We are closely monitoring the situation in our community, and will continue to do so in the days, weeks, and months to come. The risk in our region and our community remains very low.


Based on current recommendations of the local health department, there will be no event cancellations or schedule changes at this time. All performances and special events will proceed as scheduled. If circumstances change, HCT will immediately notify the public news outlets and contact our ticket holders.


We respectfully request that any patrons who feel ill refrain from entering the building or attending performances or special events. We currently do not offer refunds on ticket purchases. If you are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, we ask that you give your tickets to someone who can enjoy the performance in your absence. If a performance is canceled, refunds will be issued to ticket holders through our online ticketing system.
