The fifth annual Hays Duck Derby is quickly approaching and Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters wants everyone to join in the fun this year. The event is a great way to promote your business and be part of the crowd favorite, the cardboard boat races.

Auto World, the 2019 winner, named the 2020 Cardboard Regatta the “Man Overboard Challenge, Part 2.”

The 2020 event is set for 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5 at the Hays Aquatic Park.

Teams build their masterpiece made solely of cardboard and duct tape to race in the 2020 Auto World’s “Man Overboard Challenge, Part 2.:” There will be a series of heats with up to six boats participating in each race. The winner of each race will be awarded a pizza party for their business. The boat with the fastest time will receive naming rights for next year’s boat race challenge.

Also, that evening there will be thousands of rubber ducks racing down the Lazy River with fabulous prizes for the winners, including the grand prize of a car provided by local dealerships. There will also be a duck dash with prizes for kids, a picnic with grilled hot dogs, and quacktivities, yes, games for kids.

The proceeds from the event will enable KSBBBS to match more children with a Big Brother, Big Sister, Big Couple or Big Family, and help us support our current Big and Little matches. Give us a call at 785-625-6672 if you have questions.

If you are ready to have a lot of fun while promoting your business at the same time, simply return an application from www.haysduckderby.net. The first 24 entries make the race.
