Kenneth LaVern McCoy, 81, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Trego County Lemke-Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.

He was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Graham County to Johnie and Matilda “Tillie” (Tegtmeyer) McCoy. He grew up and attended school in WaKeeney.

He married Darlene Feezor on Oct. 24, 1954. He worked construction jobs with Deines Construction Co.

Survivors include his wife, of 62 years; two children, Robert McCoy, WaKeeney, and Terry McCoy, El Dorado; two sisters, Vera Deines, Hays, and Vesta Rohr, Mandan, N.D.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the WaKeeney Church of God; a private family inurnment will be at a later date in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Kenneth McCoy Memorial Fund in care of Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton.
