JRN embraced life and leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, friendship, and mean grilled pizza recipe.

Affectionately known as Jimmy by his family and many friends, he was an accomplished student, a tremendous history buff, hockey lover, Cubs Fan, and avid reader. He also enjoyed traveling and proudly displayed all, and I mean all, of his books much to the dismay of his wife, Keegan Nicole Nichols, to whom he was married to for 7 years.

He despised parties without food, wearing pants in the summer, reality TV shows, spicy food, and anything his wife didn’t like.

Jimmy had many loves. Most of all was his wife Keegan. He also loved his parents, Tom and Dr. Pam Nichols, from who he inherited his compassionate, comforting heart. Famously hilarious and generous, he shares these traits with his brothers Ted, Scott, Joe, and Kevin, and his sister, Kaleen. His sister-in-laws; Morgan Hager, Shawn Nichols, and Jenny Nichols and brother-in-laws; Scott Martin and Dustin Hager brought so much joy to our family. One of his favorite things was watching his nieces and nephews Ryan, Liam, Libby, Ellie, Davis, Mary, McKenzie, and Delaney fall down in the snow wearing their puffy winter coats, because he was like them - a big kid.

Jimmy had a strong and faithful relationship with the Lord and will be leaving pebbles to Heaven for all of those affected by his short, but powerful life.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery.

An endowed scholarship has been set up at Fort Hays State University for Jimmy - The “James ‘Jimmy’ Ryan Scholarship”. Checks should be made out to FHSU Foundation and noted at the bottom “James ‘Jimmy’ Ryan Nichols.”
