Esther “Elizabeth” (Auchard) McReynolds, 95, Stockton, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Solomon Valley Manor.
She was born Feb. 21, 1923, in Riley County to Francis Edward and Elizabeth Jane (Dwyer) Auchard. She was a 1940 graduate of Luray High School, attended York College in York, Neb., for two years, followed by summer school at Fort Hays Kansas State College, where she received her teaching certificate and continued her education with a bachelor’s degree in 1971.
She married Marvin McReynolds on Dec. 21, 1944. She taught at Osborne Elementary School for 17 years. Survivors include her husband, Stockton; two sons, Jerry McReynolds, Woodston, and Tony McReynolds, Stockton; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Stanley McReynolds.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Stockton; burial in Pleasant Plain Cemetery, rural Alton.
