Zane K. Edwards, 88, Bison, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse.

He was born Aug. 16, 1929, in rural Bison to Everett O. Edwards Sr. and Frances (Bitter) Edwards. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County and a 1947 graduate of Bison High School.

He married Ila Mae Lewis on Dec. 9, 1951, in Bison. He was a farmer.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bison, was a former member of the Bison Elementary School board, a former member of the USD 403 school board, a former member of the La Crosse Co-op board and a former member of the Rush County ASCS board.

Survivors include his wife, Bison; two sons, David Edwards and wife, Nancy, Norman, Okla.; and Brian Edwards and wife, Karen, Bison; a daughter, Gay Graham and husband, Ron, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Elbert “Bert” Edwards, Bison; two sisters, Ruth Anne Krug, La Crosse, and Holly Brack, Spearman, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert Edwards, Everett “Peck” Edwards Jr., Thomas Edwards, and Forrest Edwards; and five sisters, Ladine Peterson, Lois Edwards, Elma Edwards, Hazel Stump, and Minetta Smith.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse; burial in La Crosse City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church, Bison or Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, in care of the funeral home.
