Ernest E. “Ernie” Dreher, 77, Hoisington, formerly of Salina, died Monday, April 16, 2018, after a long battle with leukemia at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington.

He was born Oct. 18, 1940, in Schoenchen to Joseph “Joe” and Philomena (Klaus) Dreher.

He married Elsie M. Klaus on July 8, 1960, in Victoria. He worked part time for Key Management in Great Bend until 2012.

Survivors include his wife, of 57 years; two sons, Lee Alan Dreher, Drexel, Mo., and Darren Dreher, Wichita; two daughters, Michelle Morales, Wichita, and Kimberly Williams, Hoisington; three brothers, Irvin Dreher, Hays, Eddie Dreher, Plainville, and Walter Dreher, Topeka; two sisters, Rosina Brungardt, Garden City, and Lillian VanHooser, Andover; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Hoisington.

Friends can call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, both at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.

A vigil/rosary led by the Knights of Columbus will be at 6 p.m Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Clara Barton Hospital Foundation in care of the funeral home.
