Robert Lee “Bob” Aschenbrenner, 77, Ellis, died Sunday, July 22, 2018, in Ellis.
He was born Nov. 27, 1940, in WaKeeney to Anthony and Mary (Reitmeier) Aschenbrenner. He was a 1958 graduate of Brownell High School.
He married Rosetta Schmidt on Nov. 25, 1961. He was owner of Bob’s Repair and Service, and owned the Skelly service station in Ellis for many years.
He enjoyed farming and raising cattle, fishing, hunting and playing cards.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellis and Ellis Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Ellis; two sons, Ricky Aschenbrenner, Wichita, and Roy Aschenbrenner and wife, Holly, Ellis; two daughters, Rose Hertel and husband, Jeff, Ellis, and Rhonda Hadley and husband, Evan, Hays; a brother, LeRoy Aschenbrenner and wife, Lois, Ogallah; a sister, Mary Jane Cunningham, WaKeeney; a sister-in-law, Carol Aschenbrenner, Denver; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Robinson, David Bieker, Jessica Brazda, Kyle Hadley, Sarah Pletcher, Becca Bittel, Hannah Aschenbrenner and Hayden Aschenbrenner; and four great-grandchildren, Hadlee Brazda, Emma Bieker, Jace Brazda and Camilla Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and George Aschenbrenner; a sister, Charlotte Meiar; and two brothers-in-law, Alfred Meiar and Sam Cunningham.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church.
A rosary will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
