Lyle “Shorty” Emery, 85, Stockton, died Thursday, July 26, 2018, in Stockton.
He was born Feb. 20, 1933, in Lebanon to Levona (Manchester) and Mary (Dinkel) Emery.
He married Mary (Dinkel) Emery on March 28, 1957, in Garden City. He was a mechanic/owner of Shorty’s Standard.
Survivors include his wife, of the home in Stockton; two sons, Walt Dinkel, Oakley, and Jeff Emery, Stockton; three daughters, Vicky Peterson, Stockton, Connie Yakish, Hill City, and Kim Arnold, Alton; a brother, Howard Emery, Medicine Lodge; three sisters, Alice French, Osborne, Phyllis Miller, Grand Island, Neb., and Betty Befort, Lebanon; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Stockton; burial in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton.
