Gary Eugene Anschutz, 78, Galatia, formerly of Hays, rural Paradise, Gorham, Rocky Ford, Colo., and Great Bend, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born June 13, 1940, in Hays to Jacob and Lorraine (Trapp) Anschutz. He was a graduate of Luray High School.
He married Peggy Osthoff. He was a rancher, noxious weed supervisor and emergency management coordinator. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1962 to 1968.
Survivors include a a son, John Anschutz, Russell; a daughter, Judy Robbins, Gorham; two sisters, Dianna Wise, Belveu, Wash., and Rebecca Keil, Galatia; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
A gathering service will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Russell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6240 with military rites by Russell V.F.W. Post No. 6240 Honor Guard.
Memorials are suggested to ISIS Shrine and Russell V.F.W. Post 6240 in care of Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell.
