Donna M. Kuhn, 83, Hays, formerly of Ellis, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Hays Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 9, 1934, in Wauneta, Neb., to Jay and Olive (Mickelson) Hays. She was a 1952 graduate of Ellis High School.

She married Ervin F. Kuhn on June 14, 1960, Together they shared 48 years of marriage until he preceded her in death April 24, 2009. She spent most of her life working in retail. She retired from Kline’s Department Store after 15 years.

She was active in the Ellis Daughters of Isabella for St. Mary Catholic Church and the Senior Companion Program at Fort Hays State University.

She enjoyed time spent with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She rarely missed any of their activities.

Survivors include three daughters, Melissa Ledesma and husband, David, Great Bend, Joleen Briggs and husband, Jeff, and LaVonne Giess and husband, Dave, all of Hays; a daughter-in-law, Debra Kuhn; three brothers, David Hays and wife, Sharon, Jay Hays and Alan Hays and wife, Donna; a sister, Cleo Hockman and husband, Rick; a sister-in-law, Irma Hood and husband, Wayne; seven grandchildren, Adam Ledesma and wife, Jodi, Dava Kirmer and husband, Kevin, Dylan Briggs and wife, Sneha, Shea Briggs, Ashley Briand and husband, Scott, MaKenzie Giess and Kevin Kuhn; nine great-grandchildren, J.D. Ledesma, Emili Ledesma, Jacob Cole, Amelia and Mason Vansteenburgh, Dhani Briggs, Chloe, Addison and Evan Briand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rick Kuhn; a grandson, Kyle Kuhn; and two sisters, Evelyn and Ellen.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday with a Ellis Daughters of Isabella rosary at 5:45 p.m., both at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to DSNWK Employment Program and/or the Senior Companion Program at FHSU, in care of the funeral home.
