Howard J. Baalman, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at Sheridan County Health Complex Long Term Care, Hoxie.
He was born May 8, 1935 in rural Sheridan County to E.A. and Leona A. (Robben) Baalman.
He married Carol Sue McIlnay April 22, 1959 in Colby. He was a farmer and rancher, and served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a son, Mitchell Baalman, Hoxie; four daughters, Stephanie Schippers, Hoxie; Kenya Baalman, Colby, Danielle Perry, Minneapolis, and Darcy Hotz, Rose Hill; a brother, Gary Baalman, Hoxie; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Charles and Keith; and a sister, Marianne Ladenburger.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin Catholic Church, Sequin. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home, Hoxie, with friends receiving family from 5 to 7 p.m. A vigil and rosary service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in St. Martin Cemetery, Sequin.
