James Edward “Jim” LeBlanc, 82, Waldo, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at the Minneapolis Health Care and Rehab in Minneapolis, Kan.
He was born Aug. 1, 1936, in Shrewsbury, Mass., to Ralph and Helen Marie (Vachon) LeBlanc. He grew up in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School in the Class of 1955. While in high school, Jim was in the Navy Reserves.
He married Marian Clow on Dec. 3, 1962, in Denver. They made their home at U.S. Air Force bases until his retirement.
He worked as an air traffic controller in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1977. He ran the Waldo Street and Water Department from 1979 to 1995.
He is survived by wife, of the home; sons James “Jay” LeBlanc, Littleton, Colo., and Samuel “Sam” LeBlanc, Walnut, Cal.; daughter Kathryn LeBlan, Salina,; brother, Ralph “Bud” LeBlanc, Shrewsbury; sister Mary Ellen, Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
The family will conduct a private family service and burial of ashes at a later date. There will be no visitation. The family has established a memorial with the Waldo Fire Department.
