Thomas L. “Tooty” Schumacher, 67, Hays, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, in Hays.
He was born Oct. 7, 1951, in Hays, to Marvin “Shorty” and Mildred (Dreher) Schumacher. He was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy.
He married Debra Inman on June 9, 1973, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hays. He owned and operated Fort Hays Auto Sales for 41 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran.
He enjoyed traveling and collecting memorabilia.
Survivors include his wife, Hays; two sons, Chris Schumacher and wife, Dana, and children, Gavin and Griffin, and Chandler Schumacher and wife, Jacqueline and children, Giana and Mia, all of Hays; and two sisters, Gloria Schumacher, Hays and Tammy Parmer and husband, Sheldon, Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Bonnie Schenk.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; private family burial in Mount Allen Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, both at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are suggested to Thomas More Prep-Marian High School in care of the funeral home.
